My views on the nature of God. I will debate this to death. Because i'm pedantic like that....

What is the nature of God ?

In this article i shall be asking questions to myself about the nature of God. I will however being focusing mainly on christianity and Judism. As i have looked into those religions in more detail than Islam and the Hindy religion for example. That will change in due course.

Here is the first question:

What is God ?

The basic concept we have of God is a being that is at once loving and then quick to anger. And dealing with those human beings foolish enough to disobey his words or orders.
However i think God is much more than that. God may well have created the universe. And therefore controls every facet of the universe. Everything from evolution to stars going supernova.
Therefore the creation myth in the bible contains some truth. But people who follow the bible have taken that myth as the truth. Where as i believe that the creation myth was constructed with just enough elements for those human beings with the foresight to question the creation myth and discover evolution. The creation myth was designed for a much more regressed Human state. That being one that was not ready to cope with the revelations that mankind has discovered in the last 200 years or so. God created man in his image, but what did he use to create Adam ? He used dust/clay (i shall check on that and edit to correct my mistake).
Now how did the earth form from a geological sense ? Debris from the big bang. Space dust in other words. An Oxford Uni Chemistry professor mentioned that fact to me.
God i think created the big bang to create this universe in which we live in. God may well have other universes in which God also looks after.
If you have the power to create the stars, planets and life itself, why stop at creating just one universe. With just one intelligent creature which you have fashioned in your own image.
The simple answer is that it is not logical to have so much power and only create one universe. When you can create many and perfect your creations.
Angels if they exist may well have been God's first attempts at creating a perfect being. But of course one Angel rebelled and ruined God's experiment with man. Thus satan was born. To tempt the weak and collect souls. God is the fountain of all knowledge. So my next question is ?

Does God know everything ?

In the Bible God states that he/she (i shall come to the gender question later) is the alpha to the omega. The beginning and the end. It is logical to assume that God both knows good and evil.
But is in perfect balance between the two states. Nethier entirely Good or Evil. Human beings lack balance. Which is why some people will follow different paths. Some will do good and bad things.
Others may well save the lives of others at the cost of their own. Or they may well Kill other human beings. Which in my mind is evil.
So we need to find a balance. God in his/her wisedom decided not to give Adam and Eve knowledge of Good or Evil. Mankind was in balance. Untill Eve was tempted and the first sin or crime against the laws God had laid down were broken, and thus the balance was lost. Now here is the crux of my answer to this question:
God set the whole temptation of Eve up. He allowed her to take the apple. Why would God do this ? To develop his/her experiment to create a perfect being.
God has laid out a series of tests for mankind to follow. Which i think we have all failed at so far. I don't believe in the ultimate conclusion that everything in the bible must be followed or suffering in hell will surely follow.
No. God wants mankind to develop it's perceptions of reality. We see time as one never ending straight line. It's not. God created time, so God can bend it, to change or alter things he/she does not like.
If we do truely develop our perceptions beyond the basic human desires, then we will move onto the next step in the evolutionary path.
I don't believe we should tinker with the genetic code too much. Designer babys i think are going to far ie when a couple chooses the babys hair and eye colors, height and intelligence. Which should be possible in the far future. Disases should be dealt with. But not at the cost of screwing up our evolution by making stupid changes, that could a few generations down the line cause some problems we did not expect.

Is God Male or Female ?

God is neither. God is in perfect balance. There is no need for Gender, when you are perfection itself. Genders are only needed for procreation.
So it is a very human thing to claim that God is male or in fact female. That comes from human arrogance. We think we know everything there is.
But we do not. We discover things that change our perceptions of reality to such a certain extent that some people will not believe it. ie in the case of the creation myth movement, who refuse point blank to see that far from evolution being wrong or the work of the devil. It is in fact the work of God. Why would man have DNA along with animals ? My answer is that DNA is the basis for creating all life. God may well be searching for the perfect being. So DNA is an easy way to start off and develop beings. From the same baseline. That way things can checked, disregarded if proving to be problematic or improved. Thus the process of Evolution.
Should we mess around with it ? My feeling is that we should explore it. But do so with caution.
The creation myth has still some purpose to play. There seems to be a lot of cryptic information in the bible amongst the waffle. Bible codes ? Probably not.
You just have to read the bible and take what you need to understand the world around you.

God's view on how we should treat one another, and how we should lead our lives ?

Jesus message to the world was distorted by the Roman Empire, when it took Christianity as it's state religion (hence all the problems we have between church and state). Jesus message got bogged down in entirely human things. Justification for wars, intolerance towards those you dislike etc
Jesus message is simple. Treat each other with respect. Even those who in your eyes are not normal or doing something against God. Or those that have killed someone you love.
Human beings cannot judge each other. For we all have our own ideas about justice from the humane, Capitial punishment all the way to mob rule.
God is in perfect balance. Harmony if you will. God alone gets to judge human beings on a case by case basis.
Jesus views on a lot of subjects have been distorted through the years. The core values he stood for remain. They are just unclear amongst the doom mongering about sin and hell.

I believe we should treat one another with respect and we should be allowed to follow our own paths in life. If these paths are wrong then so be it.
What gives a christian the right to demand that someone repents. Jesus said that each human being would find him in some way. Or ignore him.
I think that implys that Jesus wants Humans to worship God in their own way. Not to hand over money to priests who say you will goto heaven because you have donated to God's church.
God does not need money. Money is an entirely human thing. Jesus in fact turned the tables over in the temple, to protest against people being compelled to give money to someone because they will gain a place in heaven. You cannot take anything with you when you die. Save your soul.

I could of course be completey wrong. I am not forcing these views onto anyone. They are my views.
If i have chosen wrongly, then i will goto hell, in which case "Oh bugger, i got that wrong".
Physical human evolution is pretty much dead. It is now time for human beings to develop the mind, beyond our current perceptions. And by doing that if a God exists then we will got closer to that God.
Which may well be the whole point of God creating this universe and human beings. The journey to becoming a perfect being. Not as perfect as God. But one where greed and ambition have been replaced by other things.

Thats my two cents on God. You can challenge my views. Debate is a healthy thing. But if a debate is one sided. Then my point is null and void.
Evolution of the human mind beyond our current perceptions of reality.
