Publisher says Jane Austen is too ugly, so they sex her up for the book.
Pathetic, I don't usually buy books based on what an author looks like. I buy them for the words, not the pictures.
What next ? Charles Dickens in Jeans with rippling biceps ?

Craziness. This is JANE AUSTEN. People will buy the book. It's that simple.

I only buy the cheap copies of Jane Austen's books.
Because I frankly find her work to be well written but very dull. I guess it's more suited to women (not trying to be sexist). Charles Dickens is more up my street, there is just something magical about his style of writing.

Agree. The cover art is of minimal importance - except in the case of people like me who buy books based on their covers.

So you'll be one of those people who buys a book to look cool and then puts it on a bookshelf and never bothers to read it ;-)

Not exactly. Just because I haven't been able to read much in the last few months doesn't mean I don't read.

Especially since all of my books are hidden in a closet and very few people ever see them. I'm very protective of my books.
