My answer to that question is yes.
If people let go of what makes up todays world.
That being instant gratification of the soul. Through materialistic means.
If the Human race is to survive long term then we need to broaden our minds.
Beyond the rubbish that fills upto todays mind.
A break from people following trends and what famous do.
A break from the violence.
A break from the mindset of hate towards certain people because of their sexaulity or colour.
A break from material possessions.
The mind is a precious thing. Extremely fragile.
Very few people can harness it's power. Those people have been called geniuses. ie Enstein.
To a certain extent people like Enstein did evolve their brains to think on a different level to most people.
This in turn perhaps alienated them from people.
But without them, we would not have had the scientific advances we have today.
Or the rich story telling from the likes of Tolkien and Lewis.
Evolution of the mind is the thing that will save us from ourselves. If it evolves beyond the constraints that are placed upon the human mind.
If it goes down the path of violence and repression of people who try to be different. Then i guess there is no hope for the human race.
This is my aim in life. To try and evolve my mind beyond the contstraints i have placed upon it.
I am not a genius and never will be. But i want to push my mind beyond it's limits.
Or close to the limits that my mind is capable of breaking through, without it imploding.
Evolution of the mind is something that needs to happen.
Otherwise we are no better than animals. I don't care how well people dress it up.
We all to certain degrees stay contained within the restrictions that social rules have placed upon people.
From hating a person because they are homosexual, to hating a person who likes a band that in your mind is the worst thing since the last worst band.
Human beings are capable of great things. Even the technology of war is the work a human brain. It's great but terrible.
Then they are those minds that change the way people think about the world through artistic work.
Subtle changes to the way people think.
I've always wanted to write for a living. But i'm not that good a writer in my own mind.
Some people may find my work intresting. But it is rather tame and sometimes confusing.
I will however work on improving myself, and trying to figure out what i can do with my life. That will not drive me round the bend again.
