As i said earlier my nuts nearly froze........ My legs were pretty much dead by the time i'd walked round Christ Church Meadow and got home...

Brrr here we go -

I was trying to get the bus in the shot, but then this silly lady cropped up thinking i was looking at her. I'm more subtle when taking
candid photographs pfft.

Set can be found here. I screwed up the cut oops hehe.

ROBIN!!! He looks like a tiny one, too!

Great photos - they really have depth and texture and detail and stuff (I don't think that quite counts as talking the talk... You got the shutter speed right for good exposure throughout, with lots of middleground detail and the background almost looking like a chalk pastel masterpiece in the background?)

He was pretty tiny, lucky to have got those shots (i have a others but he's not very clear).

I have composition down to a fine art (cept for horizons, but i can fix those in photoshop elements 7 quite easily). Though i let the camera do most of the work for the exposure settings, though i did override it a few times.

Once again I note the lack of GERMAN EFFICIENCY. We empty all fountains in autumn because frozen water can damage or burst even stone.

I can haz cute Robin of awesomeness? It's so cute. I would call it my Squishy.

That fountain has been there for pretty much the entire length of the Botanical gardens long history, same for the other pond. They don't empty the ponds unless they have to carry out repairs.

I think you'll be fighting the others for the heart of that little robin.

Pics look good. I enjoy the look of the red coat wearing girl, lol. It is kind of funny that she is wearing a skirt when it is snowing, but perhaps she has a profession where she is required to wear it.

I guess she thought i was checking her out, pfft.
She got in the way of the bus!

Oooh those are wonderful! My favorites are the robin, the evergreen (above the pic of the robin), and the first one of the fountain w/ the icicles.

Thanks. Christ Church and the Botanical garden are awesome, especially when it snows.

She seemed a bit stuck up to me lol

Well it's been a bit dull in recent days, so the snow has been a god send.

These are gorgeous! :D How often does it snow in your area? I confess I'm quite ignorant about things like this. All I know is, that in my area of the world snow is pretty much a way of life. lol Thanks again for sharing!

1991 was the last time the UK had this amount of snow fall. Though Oxford didn't get a lot, as per usual lol Everywhere else has been dumped in tons of snow.

Great pics!! Especially love the Robin, and the icicles, and the yew, and the tree trunks.

And that second one - that location is always turning up in Morse and Lewis!

Everyone loves a good robin picture, and the icicles caught my eye the moment i saw the fountain.
The centre of Oxford is one big filming location.....

Like everyone, I'm going to love the Robin picture. It is adorable!!

And zomg!! That lamppost totally reminds me of Narnia. And that building behind it is such a pretty shade of blue.

Awesome pictures!!! I wish I had a fancy camera.

Well Robin's are the hardest of little birds to capture, 20 attempts to get that one image....

There's a similar but smaller lamp post outside my house, it reminds me of the Narnia books daily.

My fancy camera has a long and brutal learning curve.
I'm still on that curve.... plus i wants Canon L Series lenses but they cost a small fortune........
