In the CIA leak case. Looks like Rove is safe for now.
At the moment i can't see Bush being impeeched, unless it's proven that the Bush adminstration took the US to War in Iraq illegally.
Things should be an intresting year for americans. I suspose the Republicans risk losing seats in the elections that are due soon.

I'm sure that will make Racquel a happy bunny.

So far, the whole Yellowcake story hasn't gotten the investigation that it deserves. Keep in mind that, at the bottom of all of this, are some crudely forged documents alleging that Iraq attempted to buy Yellowcake Uranium from the African country of Niger. Former ambassador Joe Wilson was sent to check out the story and reported it to the Bush administration as bullshit, only to have the rumor reported as fact in, of all places, the president's State Of The Union address. The alleged Uranium purchase was subsequently used by the Bush Administration as one of the foundations for attacking Iraq. Mr. Wilson then wrote a damning report about the whole deal that pissed off The President's Men who, in turn, decided to exact revenge by revealing the true occupation of Wilson's wife, Ms. Valerie Plame.

Lewis "Scooter" Libby is merely a fall guy. He is being offered as a sacrifice, in an attempt to diffuse the situation. I hope that it fails. I hope that special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald continues his probe, and that Karl Rove and Vice President Dick Cheney himself are ultimately brought up on charges.

I doubt that Bush will ever be impeached. Reagan set the standard for this back in the mid 80's when he plead ignorance, and claimed that he was "not in the loop" when his administration was caught red handed in the Iran-Contra incident. Look what happened then. One of the people who was in the loop, Vice President George Bush, went on to be president in his own right, and now his son sits in the chair.

No, as much as I wish otherwise, I'm afraid that no matter what comes of this case, the scoundrels who are ruining the world now will continue to do so in the future. The people of the world are just not smart enough to stop them.

The top dogs in all of this ie Cheney and Bush, will probably be safe. Unless Cheney has made some kind of mistake. Though i suspose Cheney would protect himself and hang Bush out to dry. Take away Cheney and the Bush adminstration will grind to a halt. I'm sure Bush is of average intellect, not as stupid as he looks. But i think he'd be rather lost without Cheney or Rice for that matter. Shes going to be the big winner at the end of the day. Though i think it might have been Rice and Rummsfield who ignored the post invasion Iraq plan that Powell had drawn up. As for Bush being impeeched i doubt it will get that far. If there is anything like a Nixon type scanadal, then i guess Bush would resign to avoid being impeeched. Though they could'nt even manage to impeech Clinton over something extremely trivial, yes he lied, but he did'nt reveal the names of CIA agents, just because somebody was ruining a case for war.

The worst thing about Bush, is the fact that he wasted the good will the world had for american after 9/11. Instead of finishing the job in Afgahnistan, the special forces who were closing in on Bin Laden, got pulled out because of the Iraq war. And some of them are still not happy about it today.
