taperoo2k at 06:16pm on 22/07/2006I loved the film though i have a few niggles mainly centering on Lois Lane.
I think Bosworth was miscast, where the middle of the film could have been great, Bosworth let it down with some very poor acting (might have been alright on smallville) in regards to Lois Lanes relationship with Superman (the kid who played lois son did a better job than Bosworth).
Brandon got Clark and Superman down quite well (i want to see more of Clark Kent in the next film).
Though Kevin Spacey was the best thing about the film in acting terms. He stole the film when he had Superman on the ropes. Lex Luthor immorality is just as strong as Superman's morality. An excellent balance to have, which means Superman can't just relay on his super powers to save the day.
The Special effects were top notch, i loved the way Superman flew, it looks more natural (probably because the film makers stuck to real world physics instead of comic book physics sp?) and the plane squence was excellent as was the climax of Superman's battle with Lex Luthor (he should have waited for the fat lady to sing before lighting up his cigar).
Hopefully Bosworth will step upto the plate in the next film.
Overall it's the best film of the summer for me (i'm sure pirates of the caribean is good, but then it has got the Jonny Depp factor).
