The show will end after series 4.
Tennant is leaving and so is RTD.
Two BBC executives are fighting over who gets to produce the show after RTD leaves.
So the end result is Doctor Who might be axed.
However that is just what's been said amongst those in the "know".
Series 4 has been commisioned apprently they are just waiting to do the press release stuff in due course.
I'll be most annoyed if thats all true.

Amazing what one learns from the OG chat room.
Rob who wrote the Dalek episode (ever so nice he is, mates with Moffat and still chats to Russell) was in the chat room the other night, and i did manage to glean that Russell has got a plan for the series and the doctor's character (probably involves a few time lords in dodgy clothes).
I guess the show may get a break, and it'll be back in a few years. Though things could change dramatically, as the BBC likes to change it's mind, quite often.
Rob also said, Moffat would probably not want to take over from Russell as the show runner.
