Voldemort could then try and make another horcrux from Harry's death. But if all the other horcruxes have been eliminated. Then Voldemort could possibly split the last remaining piece of his soul into two and therefore lose all sense of self. Harry's blood could then activate inside Voldemort's body, preventing him from A>carrying out the spell to make another horcrux i.e. place the piece of soul into an earthbound object (if that is possible for him to do so) B>The blood could destroy Voldemort's body from the inside out, triggered by Harry's sacrifice.
I’m taking a leap of faith here and think that you can only split your soul 7 times. So if Voldemort were to try and split his soul once more, he could very well end up vanquishing himself through Harry’s death, by destroying his sense of self. A fate worse than death, falling into a void of nothingness. If Voldemort has no sense of self, then he is a threat to no one.
If any pieces of his soul were remaining, I’m sure Ron, Hermione and whoever else survives the war will see to it that they are destroyed.
There are quite a few holes in this theory, but if you take into account what Dumbledore said about the last piece of Voldemort’s soul, it is what gives Voldemort his sense of self, then therefore Harry could vanquish Voldemort, but not in the way most people are expecting him to. There is canon evidence for Harry possibly sacrificing himself, using his power to love. Because Lilly Potter did the same thing for Harry, which provided him with a protection that Lord Voldemort did not expect and always underestimates. This is just me thinking outside of the box so to speak. The Prophecy only gives an indication as to what might happen during the final battle, nothing that actually transpires if one kills the other. If Harry were to turn his back on the prophecy and do something Voldemort did not expect, then it will tie in with what Lilly Potter did for her Harry quite nicely.
